When a homeowner invites a designer into their home, they want personal advice, tactile fabric samples and an expert who can show them exactly what will work in their room.

Operating for over 30 years, our client is an award-winning specialist in bespoke powered blinds, architectural shading, and outdoor awnings. They generate qualified homeowner consultations through national TV and press campaigns, with dedicated surveyors and professional installation teams handling all technical measurements and fitting from start to finish.

Earnings & weekly payouts 

Commission is completely uncapped and structured to keep your business cash flow moving smoothly:

• £50,000–£70,000 Realistic OTE: Achievable annual earnings on a self-employed, commission-only basis for consistent performers running regular customer visits.
• Weekly BACS Payments: Commissions are calculated and paid out weekly via secure direct bank transfer.
• Performance Bonuses: Regular financial incentives on top of your standard weekly commissions.

Inside the consultation

You manage the customer relationship in the home from styling advice to signed contract:

• Sit down with homeowners, understand their interior ideas, and recommend tailored window coverings that suit their property.
• Present physical fabrics, hardware, and premium finishes using your demonstration sample kit.
• Quote clearly on the spot, answer questions, and secure the agreement before you leave.

Onboarding & support

• A 5-day residential course (all expenses paid, Monday to Friday) covering product specs, design options, and sales processes.
• Shadow an experienced Design Consultant and surveyor to observe live consultations, learn best practices, and build an immediate support network.
• Regular refresher courses and one-on-one coaching sessions with a dedicated Training Manager to support your development in the field.
• Complete point-of-sale materials and physical sample collections supplied for your customer visits.

Now, the honest part

• 100% Self-Employed: This is a commission-only role with no basic salary. What you earn is tied directly to your closing ability and consistency.
• Evenings & Weekends: Homeowners work during the day. To hit £50k–£70k+, you must be available for some evening and weekend appointment slots when both decision-makers are around the table.
• Vehicle Requirements: You must hold a full UK driving licence and own a reliable, medium-sized car to transport your product sample cases.
• Hardware & Tech: You will need your own laptop and smartphone, along with the day-to-day IT literacy to manage your diary and process customer quotes.

Who fits this role

• A proven track record in direct sales, in-home consultations, window furnishings, or interior home improvements.
• A natural eye for design and the communication skills to help clients visualise the finished look.
• Strong closing skills with high ethical standards and neat personal presentation.
• The personal discipline to manage your travel, stay organised, and follow up on quotes.

It will not work if: You require a fixed monthly salary, want a 9-to-5 desk job, do not drive a medium-sized vehicle, or are unable to accommodate evening and weekend customer appointments.
